Data Governance - Working with TfNSW on Data Sharing

The Challenge

Data sharing between government departments, agencies and trusted external third parties requires a robust data sharing strategy. Governments have adopted the ‘Five Safes’ data-sharing framework to assist in how to share data based on personal and private information that had been de-identified.

Our Work

Frazer Walker developed a framework for the client that required liaising with a range of government bodies along with legal, technology and business personnel within the Analytics department.

The Outcome

The resultant concept data sharing and privacy tool, based on the ‘Five Safes’ framework uses the Personal Information Factor as the x-axis (for safe data) and the y-axis for the other four safes (people, settings, project and output).
