Government – Program Assurance for TfNSW Rail Operations Centre
Introduction
Frazer Walker assisted TfNSW as their independent program assurance partner, in their successful implementation of the new Rail Operations Centre in Sydney. This now forms a critical part of the overall Future Transport Network.
The Challenge
This complex $250m+ program spanned construction, significant organisational change as well as the replacement of core systems with new business processes and technology from multiple vendors.
Our Work
Frazer Walker were engaged by the Program Sponsor to provide independent assurance on how the program was being managed. Our initial review recommendations lead to significant interventions by the Sponsor including changes in the program structure, PMO provider and Program Director roles.
The Outcome
With strong Sponsorship at Executive level, the program reset was undertaken and the program has since been successfully implemented with:
- New physical Rail Operations Centre (ROC) in Sydney
- Merged teams and changed roles for the Rail staff
- New Operational Technology deployed
- Replacement of core systems with new industry leading systems, with integration across the suite
